Firstly, what is AI technology?

AI technology (stand for Artificial Intelligence) is a technology that simulates human thinking and learning processes for machines, especially computer systems. Those processes include learning (gathering information and rules for using information), reasoning (applying rules to nearly conclude or confirm), and self-correction. Special AI applications include expert systems, speech recognition, and computer vision (facial recognition, objects, or writing).

The definition of AI technology was first appeared by John McCarthy, an American computer scientist, in 1956 at The Dartmouth Conference. Nowadays, AI technology is a term including everything from the robot automation process to the real robot.

AI technology has recently become popular, receiving the attention of many people thanks to Big Data, the concern of businesses about the importance of data along with hardware technology has grown stronger, allowing AI technology to be processed at a faster speed than ever before.

Classification of AI technology

Based on complication, we can classify AI technology into 4 types:

Type 1:Reactive AI technology (Reactive Machine)

Deep Blue, IBM's chess automation program defeated world player Garry Kasparov in the 1990s, was a point of view. The AI technology of Deep Blue could identify moves and predict the next move. But it didn’t have any memory and couldn’t use those past experiences to continue to train in the future.

This type of AI technology analyzes possible moves - their and opponent’s - and chooses the best strategy. Deep Blue and AlphaGO (play go) of Google were designed for narrow purposes and couldn’t easily be applied to other situations.

Type 2:AI technology with limited storage

Those AI technologies can use past experiences to make decisions in the future. Some of these decision-making functions are present in unmanned devices such as vehicles, drones, or submarines. Combining environmental sensors around this AI technology can predict the situation and give optimal action steps for the device. They will then be used to take action in the next step.

Type 3:Theory of AI

This is a psychological term. This AI technology can think and learn about things around it to apply itself to a specific thing. This kind of AI technology is not feasible at the moment.

Type 4:Self-awareness

AI systems even have their awareness, consciousness, and behaviors like humans. They can have emotions and understand other’s. Of course, this kind of AI technology is not feasible at the moment.
